Kolkata Knight Riders will be all geared up for this coming season after a decent outing last year. The side managed to qualify for the playoffs only to be eliminated by Sunrisers Hyderabad who topped them in the eliminator. Knight Riders will be led by Gautam Gambhir as the franchise will be aiming to win the coveted trophy for a third time. The side will be without their key players like Andre Russell and Morne Morkel. Umesh Yadav and Trent Boult will form a potent frontline pace attack along with Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine added as spin options for the side.

Rising Pune Supergiant has chosen Steven Smith as new captain of the side for the coming season as MS Dhoni will continue to be part of the setup as a player. The last season Supergiant were plagued by injuries to key players while the side failed to put in consistent performances to end up finishing on second last position in the league. Mitchell Marsh is set to miss the tournament due to shoulder injury as Imran Tahir is all set to replace him for the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Ben Stokes is all set to play Rising Pune this season after being purchased for a whopping price of 14.5 Indian crores. Ajinkya Rahane and Faf du Plessis are dependable options with the bat.
